Stop Hunger Now volunteers to package 822 000 meals on Mandela Day
On 18 July 2014, Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa will run a food security and volunteer engagement event at the Sandton Convention Centre, and the Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Cape Town.
Titled Meals in Memory, the event will see a record number of 6 000-plus volunteers package 822 000 meals in a single day, or meals for a year for over 6 000 pre-school learners.

Free screenings of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom on Mandela Day
At 09h45 on Nelson Mandela International Day, 18 July 2014, members of the public are invited to attend free screenings of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom at selected Ster Kinekor cinemas across the country.
Guests will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.

Mandla Mandela hands out blankets to the elderly in rural Hammanskraal
On 26 June 2014, over 2 000 elderly members of a rural community in Hammanskraal, North West Province, received a much-welcome winter gift – a thick blanket donated by the Al-Imdaad Foundation and personally handed over to them by Zwelivelile “Mandla” Mandela, Chief of the Mvezo Traditional Council and grandson of the late Nelson Mandela.
An initiative of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Al-Imdaad Foundation and the Chief himself, the blanket handover project represents Mandla Mandela's call to make every day a Mandela Day by helping those in your community in whatever way they can.
