Acts of service took many forms during Mandela Week as members of the Nelson Mandela Foundation joined volunteers at St Columba's Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen to support the organisation's ongoing work in the community.

Throughout the morning, volunteers prepared and served breakfast, packed sandwiches, distributed blankets and toiletries, and helped prepare fresh vegetables for the soup kitchen. Each task, whether large or small, contributed to ensuring that those accessing the service were met with care, compassion and dignity.

The day's activities reflected the strength of collective action. By working alongside one another, volunteers demonstrated that meaningful service is built through shared responsibility and a willingness to respond to the needs of others.
