Leadership has always been central to Nelson Mandela's legacy. Not simply leadership as a position of power, but leadership rooted in courage, dialogue, accountability and service.

This Mandela Month, the Nelson Mandela Foundation launches the inaugural Nelson Mandela Global Leadership Forum in New York, creating a new international platform for conversations about the leadership challenges shaping our world today. At a time of growing inequality, conflict, declining trust in public institutions and deep political polarisation, the Forum brings together leaders, thinkers and changemakers to reflect on what ethical, values-driven leadership looks like in practice.

The inaugural Forum will feature New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani as the Distinguished Speaker, continuing the Foundation's longstanding tradition of convening influential voices to engage with some of the defining questions of our time.

Inspired by Madiba's belief in the power of dialogue, the Forum aims to encourage honest conversation, fresh thinking and collective action in pursuit of a more just and equitable world.
