Following close on the heels of the two hit cookbooks The Great Australian Cookbook and The Great New Zealand Cookbook, The Great South African Cookbook has already made it into the top five of local sales.

With contributions from culinary superstars, Reuben Riffel, Siba Mtongana, and Nelson Mandela’s long-time personal chef, Xoliswa Ndoyiya, all royalties from book sales will help food security programmes the Nelson Mandela Foundation has partnered with.

“Nearly a quarter of all South Africans do not know where their next meal is coming from. This is a crisis,” says Sello Hatang Chief Executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. “All the chefs in this book have given their time and creativity for free. The public can play a huge part in helping people by just buying the book.”

The Great South African Cookbook is available in all major bookstores and via online platforms. From delicious Umleqwa to South African Snoek with Apricot Jam, and Lemon Garlic Glaze among the 67 recipes, you will experience a taste of the whole country. At the same time you will be helping to provide food security for people in need.
