The Nelson Mandela Foundation activates Mandela Day 2016 on 8 June 2016.

To kick off Mandela Day 2016, manufacturer of household goods SC Johnson (SCJ) has provided 1 120 pairs of new school shoes to Lethabong Secondary School.

This morning the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative succeeded in fulfilling their intentions to set a new world record of laying down the largest blanket. The community affectionately dubbed KnitWits for Madiba’s hard work was put out for all to see, and more importantly, for those in need to have an extra layer of warmth this coming winter.

Breadline Africa on Thursday, 11 February celebrated the fifth library launched in partnership with the Public Investment Corporation. The launch at Putuma Junior Secondary School in the Eastern Cape brought to 65 the number of libraries opened in the province.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation’s water drive, in partnership with Proudly South African, was a resounding success, with over 30-million litres of fresh water collected for donation to drought-stricken communities.

As 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day celebrates its second birthday, the KnitWits for Madiba are ready to break their previous record for the biggest crochet blanket in the world with the help of prisoners across South Africa.
