What does meaningful social impact look like in South Africa today? How can businesses, civil society, government and communities work together to address inequality and create lasting change?

These are some of the questions at the heart of the CSI Indaba 2026, taking place from 14–16 July at the Indaba Hotel in Johannesburg. Billed as South Africa's Biggest CSI Classroom, the inaugural Indaba will bring together corporate leaders, social investment practitioners, NGOs, government representatives, academics and community changemakers to explore the future of corporate social investment through dialogue, collaboration and shared learning.

Among this year's speakers is Professor Verne Harris, Head of Leadership and Knowledge Development at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, who will join a diverse line-up of thought leaders contributing to conversations on leadership, memory, justice and the role of institutions in building a more equitable society. The programme also features keynote addresses, panel discussions and masterclasses designed to challenge conventional thinking and inspire new approaches to social impact.

Held during Mandela Week, the CSI Indaba reflects the spirit of Mandela Day by recognising that lasting change requires more than acts of service—it requires sustained partnerships, bold thinking and collective action. Whether you work in corporate social investment, philanthropy, the non-profit sector or community development, the Indaba offers an opportunity to connect with others committed to creating meaningful change.
