Teachers and Grade 7 pupils at a school in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, are being protected against Covid-19 with disposable face shields donated through Participate for Good’s Mandela Education Programme.

Cape Town-based charity 1 Million Smiles made and donated the disposable face shields that were handed over to Musenga Vhadzimu Primary School in Diepsloot. Principal Rose Segale was delighted to receive some help in the form of the shields to enable teaching in accordance with the Department of Basic Education’s safety guidelines for curbing the transmission of Covid-19.

Without the shields, the school would not be able to restart face-to-face teaching and learning.
